5 Tips for Planning Your Branding Session

It feels like branding and content creation go hand in hand with being a small business owner these days: you can't have one without the other. Believe it or not, even personal branding can be beneficial, if you have a heavy online presence.

I want to share five tips that will help you with your branding session.

ONE: Create your vision board. I'm talking poses, flatlays, VIBES, whatever you find on Pinterest (here is my personal Pinterest if you're wanting to see some brand work) that calls to you, add it to your vision board. Once this is created and you are feeling inspired, look for your photographer.

TWO: Choose your photographer - do your research. There are so many great photographers out there, but be sure to choose someone who is just as excited about your vision and doesn't view you as just another gallery. I personally lean more towards women owned small businesses.

THREE: Choose your location. I recommend on-site at your workplace or in a brightly lit studio. This allows for so much versatility as well as a more authentic gallery and more pieces of content for you to use in the future. If you're in Las Vegas, some of my favorite studios are linked here: The White Space, The Landing Space, and The Gathering Place.

FOUR: Gather your outfits and props! This can be anywhere from 2-4 outfits. After working with so many brands, I think 3 is the perfect number. Your everyday work outfit, something casual and fun and something a little "professional" or fancy. You will also want any and all "props." For example, if you are a hair stylist, having some of the tools you use everyday will really help bring your brand to life and give it a more personal feel.

FIVE: Now, this is optional, but consider bringing a friend to your session. Someone to help you with outfits, hair, playing your fave playlist, etc. I always think that more is truly merrier and I've had so much working with clients and their friends.
